Good morning all!
This morning I have spent some time this morning making fun of some my friends armies, comparing their Space Wolves and Blood Angels to Twilight. I know it was an obvious knock and in no way was original, but I sure had fun messing with them for a bit.
This made me think about smack talk during games, and at what point does it get to be too much. Personally I think some friendly smack talk can do a bit to further enrich the "fun" level of a game. I think that with a small, close knit group of gamers like we have it is not much of an issue as everyone understands it is lighthearted and no ill will is intended.
Now, if I was at the FLGS I would not casually be throwing around your mama jokes and such. Also, I think to make sure that everyone is having fun you pay attention to how the other player is doing. If they look like they are getting frustrated, there is no need to push them over the edge and ruin their game experience.
Tournament/competition play is another place where I would refrain from smack talk. People put a lot of work into their armies, and their strategies, and may have traveled a long way to appear and have a good time. In this setting I think that smack talk could be misinterpreted as poor sportsmanship very easily.
So, what experiences have you had that you can share? Any fantastic slams that you would like to share with the world? And how do you feel about smack talk and it's use in games in general? As always, please share your thoughts in the comments section below.

Chaos Sisters!
The Image above is courtesy of www.StudioColrouphobia.net, this guy's work is fantastic! He does artwork commissions as well, so definitely look into it if you have such a need.
This image made me think about how a Chaos Sister's army could be done. As far as rules wise, I suppose you could use the current Chaos Marines codex as counts as. It's really too bad there are no plastic sister's kits really to speak of. It really makes it difficult to do a large scale conversion like this. Sisters Repentia would be easy to cross over in to Chaos.
Found this as well, a great St Celestine re-imagined as chaos. If anyone has seen a Chaos Sisters army or has pictures, please share in the Comments below.

From the Crypts: Assembling an Annihilation Barge
Good morning all, hope you are all having a great Monday. I am trying something a little different today, and sharing my assembly process for an Annihilation Barge. I am planning on completing 3 total for my army, so that I can select the full allotment should I decide too. Following is my assembly of my first Annihilation Barge.
Step One
Here we are at Step One, the kit comes with the pieces to be either a Command Barge or an Annihilation Barge. 3 sprues contain the parts for both kits, as well as the pieces for a Necron Overlord. Also included are the standard larger flying base, and a 25mm base for the Overlord. These kits are great, by going with 5 total I am getting 5 Overlords, which I can use as intended, or bits out. Also included is a Necron decal transfer sheet. I use the standard citadel sprue clippers, and Zap-A-Gap for my glue, as well as a standard Exacto Knife blade for removing sprue flash and severe mold lines.
In taking a look at the sprues there are a ton of great looking pieces here too that could be used in some more freeform conversion. Pieces were organized well on the sprues, and only a couple of times throughout the whole assembly process did it take me a moment to locate the required parts.
Step Two
The first actual steps of assembly have you building out the gunner/driver. Assembly here was fairly straight forward. I have seen some finished barges that do not include these, and they turned out all right, so it is certainly your option to do so. I decided to stick as close as possible to the instructions. The way the shoulder pieces are set on the sprue make it difficult to clip without a bunch of flash, so I had to clean them up with the Exacto knife. DO NOT ADD THE ARMS AT THIS TIME. If you do so they will not match up to the control boards correctly later in the assembly.
Step Three
Here we are starting out building the chassis. Great fun here as we start to see what things will look like. The chassis is made up of multiple parts that essentially sandwich or layer up. In this part of the assembly there are a pair of thrusters on a type of ball joint that go on the back. The instructions indicate to not glue these, but I think that if you wanted to glue them into position I did not see where this would pose a problem later on. I opted not to glue them, but I will most likely change these to a fixed position later on. You also will want to take care in the positioning of the driver/gunner, as they are sandwiched between two layers, and you will want them to line up just right to prevent issues. With the swept forward "wings", if you are not careful you can end up with some gaps, but with careful application of glue and pressure you should have no trouble. If you do end up with some gaps, they would be fairly easy to fill with your favorite modelling putty.
Step Four
On this step you add the vertical "scorpion tail". this fits rather easily onto the chassis. At this point I couldn't help but be reminded of the old metal Dark Eldar Talos, very scorpion looking indeed. At the top of the "tail", there is a sensor array that gets glued flat down.
Step Five
This part was slightly tricky. There are 3 pieces on each side that you use too meet up the panels to the "tail". When taking these off of the sprues be careful to not use too much pressure, as there is a fold or joint that can snap in the middle. These pieces are in cramped placement on the sprue. I was able to get them off with out any breaking, but wanted to give a heads up for anyone else. Also, take some care in how the pieces are placed on the tail and how they meet up to the panel. If you are careless you will find that they do not meet up as well you would like.
Step Six
Here we are with the finished product. In this step you do both the under slung gun option, in which I selected the Tesla Cannon, and the Twin Linked Tesla Destructor. Also in this step is where you would build the rider's "podium" which I left on the sprue as this will be a dedicated Annihilation Barge. Also I should mention that there is nothing preventing you from using this kit as both. You could very easily swap out the podium and the gun turret without any issue.

I had a lot of fun assembling this kit, and it took less than an hour. If I had any complaints at all, it would be with the flyer bases that come included and how they match up to the model, but this is fairly standard for any GW model that makes use of the flying bases. I know that there are a ton of good guides out there for options with better base mounting.
That is all for now, please let me know how you liked this new format in the comments. Eventually when this is painted I will share pics, thanks all!

Why no Monoliths?
Good morning all! In looking around the interwebs, I have been checking out all the varied Necron Army lists that I can find. I really want to get a good idea of how the Necrons are being played in various local metas around the world. I want to take the ideas that I have been seeing and balance them with the way that I would like to play my army.
One thing that I have noticed is that not very many of the lists I have seen have included Monoliths. I did not keep track to see if this was an issue of point cost or theme. I personally think that Monoliths have a lot to offer.
14 armor on all sides, Check. Large Blast template courtesy of the Particle Whip, Check. Multiple Gauss shots per turn, Check. Ability to pull units in from reserve turn 1, Check. STR test for all models within d6 inches of the Gate or go bye bye, Check. Ability to move things around the board without deepstriking, Check. Bad Ass looking model, Check. Living Metal, Check.
Granted, they are a bit expensive at 200 points a pop. I will personally be using them to move around Immortals until the Night Scythe model comes out. Perhaps more people would use them if they were made out of cake like the lovely Monolith Cake above. Or is the cake a lie?

Starting WarmaHords. (Warmachine/Hordes)
Hello all I'd thought I'd break off from the 40k talk for a bit and switch it up to another amazing game Warrmahordes . I've been playing war-games now for a lot of years which has made me a bit picky about what I play. I started warmahordes a few years ago just after remix came out and fell in love with it's small scale and it's play like you gotta pair attitude. The game is fun to play but can get a little repetitive, everything has a card that contains all your stats, weapons and abilities which can be handy, but it also means that there is no room for customization.
Choices
One of the best thing about this game is it's army choices. There are two games in the Privateer Press line Warmachine/Hordes Warmachine being sci-fi Hordes being fantasy, and the cool thing is they are interchangeable. Which means that if you want one of you can play from sci-fi one from fantasy and still have a great game. There are armies for every play style and fluff desire.
Game Costs
If you are looking for a game to play as a break from your main hobby this is a good one, you can buy in for about $75 (American) this will give you a battle box and a unit choice. Now the game can cost as much as Warhammer Fb/40k but that depends on your choices just like any other war-game. I chose to buy smart and took a lot of time to decide what army to play choosing what matched best with my play style, look of the models, and fluff. I use this formula in anything I choose to play, my passion is painting/conversion, and story. I chose Cygnar from Warmachine and only bought what I'd like to field in competitive play, this game has an in your face play style not saying you can't have a fun list but it's truly set up to kick some teeth in.
Models
Another downside to the line is its 90% metal so there is a lot of prep work with everything and no customization. However with Army Painters sprays you can under coat everything in a color that you want for a starting color and this helps prevent the chipping that you can get from too many paint layers on metal. Also you should look into a good sealant for you models to protect them.
The best thing I could suggest to new players looking into any game is do some research you can find all you need for any WarmaHordes army here www.privateerpress.com or at http://battlecollege.wikispaces.com/ Enjoy, your local pro painting Honorary Horseman T4nksmasher.

New Team Bat Rep!!
Hey everyone! Got another bet rep for you! It's a team battle. 4000 pts per team. Orks & Dark Eldar vs. Tyranids & Salamanders! This was Rob's first time filming a battle report all the way through. Tell him what you thought about it! Got a couple of more battle reports coming tomorrow. So be on the look out for some Grey Knight action and Necron action. Without further ado...
Musings on Necrons
Now I wait. Soon the Tomb World will awaken. Soon I will be unleashing green death and arcing tesla doom upon my enemies. As soon as my stuff comes in, hehe.
I spent some time going through and making 3 lists to choose from for the 1000 point game that will kick off the campaign. I have some varied and balanced lists to choose from. I also played around with some lists at the 2000 point level. Once we get moving I will start sharing the lists I am coming up with. I do not want to give any advantage now do I, hehe.
Played a fun first game the other night against Tenzion(Jared). He was borrowing Nate's Blood Angels army, and things went pretty well for him. I definitely learned a lesson in not charging a BA Furioso Dreadnought with blood talons, he SMOKED my scarab squad. It would have been best if I had moved them up to assault the Razorback. Also, I learned a valuable lesson with using enough troops choices, 2 simply doesn't cut it. The only highlight for me was taking out Mephiston with a Lychguard unit. All in all though it was a great time, and we should have a battle report up on it sometime soon.
Tomorrow night I hope to have finally forced myself to prime/basecoat what I have currently. The Mrs will be home, and that should make it easier for me to sneak off to the garage to get them done. I have been talking about it for too long and need to get moving before the rest of the army arrives.
Until next time, please feel free to share any thoughts/ideas/complaints in the comments, we want your feedback please!

New Battle Report!
Hey kiddos! It's Jared, I'm back with another battle report. Nate was so kind to let me use the Blood Angels for this battle. 2000 pts Annihilation, Blood Angels vs. Imperial Guard. Let me tell you, great times. Sam was a good opponent and as one of the steads he is starting to play on a horsemen caliber. Please comment below and talk with us about our lists and strategies.
On another note, my Space Wolves are almost finished being painted by T4nk (Or Billy). Should have them hopefully sometime this weekend. Then you will start seeing a lot more Space Wolves in our reports. Should be a great time. I'm also going to be posting about three more Bat reps this week yet. Maybe more. Had a lot of fun this last week and weekend.

Update to the Storm of Destruction Introduction
We have had an update for the introduction for our Storm of Destruction campaign. Sean has decided to change from Legion of the Damned to Soul Drinkers, and has updated the introduction accordingly. We are all very excited to get this rolling, and will be sharing information with everyone as time goes on.
An envoy from the Death Specters Chapter has arrived on the planet Fenris seeking aid in the Chapters protectorate in the Ghoul Stars. Increased Ork raids as well as new activity from the supposedly wiped out Cythor Fiends have left the Chapter's resources stretched to the breaking point. Immediate assistance is needed if the region is to remain in the nominal hands of the Emperor. As the Black Templars have apparently failed to truly wipe out the Fiends from their last crusade in the region and Logan's infamous reputation for protecting the people of the Imperium, the Spaces Wolves were the most obvious choice for aid.
Baal itself has found itself under increased raiding from Orks on the planet Vacuna. Field intelligence gathered indicates the offensive is being driven from the nearby Ghoul Stars region. Hearing that the Space Wolves have been tasked with an expedition into the area, Dante has extended an offer of aid and manpower. If the Ghoul Stars region can be infiltrated by the Blood Angels, it should help stem the Ork raids to Baal.
While the planning for the expedition was underway, rumors have reached the Ordos Malleus of Chaos aligned Space Marines being active in the Ghoul Stars region as well. To make matters worse, descriptions of the insignia worn by these marines matches those from accounts were the renegade Soul Drinkers have been sighted. A strike force of the noble Grey Knights was dispatched to join the war efforts to determine if the rumors were true and stop any gains the agents of Chaos are attempting.
As the expedition gathered together around the planet Dolumar; distress signals were received from a nearby planet called Holda. A combined-arms investigation force was deployed to the planet. The investigation fleet was heavily armed as the planet Holda was last listed as a dead world with no Imperial presence.....

"Storm of Destruction" Four Horsemen 40K Campaign Introduction
What was to be the "Dotton Campaign" has been retooled, and will now be known as "Storm of Destruction". Our own Sean has again taken the time to put together a great introduction. Enjoy!

Necron Order Is Being Placed Today!
Well here we go, no turning back now. All of my other armies are sold and the order is being placed to expand on my Necron force. I am very excited and am looking forward to having one army to focus on. Goodbye Dark Angels, goodbye Tyranids, goodbye Sisters of Battle, goodbye Orks, and goodbye Grey Knights.
So far to start I have the following for my Necron force:
28 x Warriors
3 x Destroyers
7 x Scarab Bases
Imothek
Here is what I will be adding with the order:
2 x Monoliths
2 x Ghost Arks
2 x Command Barges
2 x Lychguard Boxes
It's great because all of the armies I am selling off are staying in the group to help flesh out others armies. Once T4nk has finished painting Tenzion's Space Wolves, I will have some more funds to help flesh out my army, which I am thinking will go towards picking up Immortals to bolster my troop choices.
All in all, I can't wait to get this new project going and will be sure to provide updates as the army progresses.

Necron Conversions From Around the Web
Another day, another post.
The rumor mill keeps on spinning out the rumors, and the most current rumor about the Necron second wave indicates that the release may be delayed. As with all rumors take this as you will. If like me you are really excited to see the new models be released, this rumor is a little bit of a downer.
So, in the interim, I went out amongst the interwebs, to find some conversion images for those models not yet released. Please enjoy the below images, all credit to their creators, I hope these help tide you over until the real GW models are released.

Stahly's Army Painter Warpaints Review
Stahly's Tale of Painters: Army Painter's Warpaints Review
I wanted to share this review I found while surfing the blogo-sphere.
This is an extremely well done review, full of detail and was well researched. The comparisons and testimonial were a great touch. I wanted to make sure we pointed people in Stahly's direction, go take a look!

Moving sucks!
Well, this last weekend my wife and I got a new house with Nate (one of the Four Horsemen) and I got to tell you, I hate moving. So we are finally moved in. Now we just need to unpack and get things to where we want them this week. Fun fun.
On another note, we were able to have a battle last week that I need to make a battle report for. I should have that done by tomorrow sometime. Orks & Salamanders vs. Blood Angels & Tyranids. Great game. I will have that up and we should be doing some games this week now that we have a huge basement and lots of room to put up tables. Please keep your comments coming, and join the blog roll.

Team Battle Report!
Ok, so it didn't take long to get the battle report done this time. Grey Knights vs. Blood Angels & Tyranids. What can I say, well...nothing. You will just have to watch the video. Please comment below about questions and other things. Your comments are appreciated. We will have more battle reports to come.
Busy, busy, busy!
Hey all,
Sorry for the lack of content this last couple of days. Had some family emergencies and just crazy busy on top of that. We did happen to get a battle report done. I will be posting in a few hours. Grey Knights vs. Blood Angels and Tyranids. Was a really fun game. Lots and lots of carnage! Will get it up soon. Leave your comments below as to who you think would win. 4000 ps of Grey Knights vs. 4000 pts of Blood Angels and Tyranids. :)

Team battle report!
Hey everyone!
I finally had a chance to finish the team battle report for the team battle we had on Tuesday. Good stuff. Some sadness, some greatness, and a whole lot of death! Any ways, I tried to put a logo up on the battle report for us and it didn't show up, so that kind of failed, but doesn't mean that I won't keep trying.
Please leave any comments below and we should be doing some 40k this weekend. I'll be sure to get a bet rep on anything that takes place.

Forgeworld Necron Tomb Stalker
Came across this on Forge World a while back, anyone out there using it? Do you find it effective? How about Strengths and Weaknesses?
I think this has a really nice look and could be a good centerpiece for an army. However, I would like an idea of the effectiveness before making an investment. I do realize that this may be for Apocalypse games only as well. Any information you all might have would be greatly appreciated.

Ouch...or Misadventures With The Deep Strike Mishap Table
Last night's game was a lot of fun. It was crazy seeing all those Orks and Tyranids lined up across the table. We will have a full battle report up in a couple of days as soon as the editing is completed.
Things started out in a bad way for my Dark Angels force. Deathwing Assault first turn resulted in losing 2 full squads due to deep strike mishaps. Needless to say it took quite a bit of sting out of my army.
My horde opponents functioned well together, and they had completely removed my teammates Chaos Space Marine force by end of turn 4. We conceded at this point.
I really can't wait to get my Necrons done, even more so now, hehe.
