Rupert the Daemon Prince?

This is Rupert. The Daemon Prince.
Despite being a Khornate Monstrous Creature with 2 massive swords, he's actually a pretty cool guy, and a generous lover. You can even ask Penny P., The Slaaneshi Daemon Princess.
This is Rupert in his unpainted stage. The base isn't well shown. But I spent extra special time on the base, and I'm happy with it.

Warboss Rob is back da town

Hello all, it's your lovable Warboss Rob here!  I'm sorry for the lack of posts from my part.  Don't worry your little heads, I have made many new additions to my Ork army. Also I will post a few new things I have throwing together with bits to call an Ork unit. I also will be posting pics and progress of WWWAAAGGHHHH DEFF SKULL soon :D.  I also slowing painting my Black Templar army, and will post some stuff on them as well.

Throatpunch's Plans for the Weekend

Good morning all!  Throatpunch here with this weekends plan.

The upcoming holiday weekend is quickly approaching, and I am trying to get a plan of action set up.  While the rest of the Horsemen will be participating in the in-club tourney, I will be trying to get some hobby stuff completed. So far the plan is to get a coat of primer on everything not already primed. So that will be 2 Monoliths, 2 10 man squads of Tesla Immortals, 40+ Warriors, 1 5 man Deathmark squad, a converted Cryptek, Imotekh, Trazyn, 2 Barge Overlords, 10 Dispersion Shield Lychguard, and 3 Destroyers.  Oh and a Nightbringer C'Tan Shard.

Once these are dry I plan on getting all of my "green tubes" glued in, as I am tired of explaining that you have to wait until the model is painted before putting the tubes in ;p.  Once all of this is done, I plan on going with a black and red paint scheme.  Pics will be posted as soon as some progress is made.

If I am feeling really productive, I will also finish priming my Cryx army, and finish assembling my Menoth and Khador skirmish groups.  I really like Warmachine, but unfortunately I never get a chance to play as I live about 45 minutes from the nearest FLGS.  This won't stop me from keeping collecting the miniatures, as I love the look.

Lastly, I am going to go with Blood Angels as the winner of the tourney this weekend.

NEWS FLASH FH40K!!!

Hey everyone! It is I, Jared with the Four Horsemen. I know, I know, you're thinking "where the hell have you been?" Well with life and finishing armies and starting new ones and working on terrain and what not to better your experiences when watching our videos, needless to say, we've been way too busy. So here's a video on some news and stuff going on with the Four Horsemen. Enjoy! Battle reports will be coming back soon, most likely next week! Comment!

KHAOS SPEHSS MAHREENS!?

Hey guys! Its your not-so-friendly and heretical Ninvizible here! Nah just kidding I'm friendly. Most of the time. Well anyway, about a month ago I started playing Chaos Space Marines, because I love them, and I proved to do fairly well with them. Much more simple and fun - in my opinion - than Imperial Guard.

So thanks to Tenzion for getting the Guard sold and then buying me a Chaos army from eBay, I will now have a Chaos army. I will be painting them like the Bleak Brotherhood, a mysterious possible splinter-faction of the Warp Ghosts. They have very very little lore, so, I'll write my own, maaaaybe post it on here. I will definitely post my progress. Now enjoy the pictures below!
One being Bleak Brotherhood armor and my current collection of Khorne Berserker's! :D

Mrs. Throatpunch's Daemons Cont...

Happy Friday all!

This weekend Mrs Throatpunch and myself will be playing our very first game of 40K together!  I am picking her up Skulltaker and 2 Daemon Princes tonight, and I am thinking that the first game will be 1500 points.  She is very competitive, and it will be interesting to see how quickly she catches on to the rules.

I am kind of getting the feeling that my Necrons versus her Daemons may be a mismatch that is not in my favor.  Daemons are so beast in close that if she gets into my lines, there is not going to be much I can do.  On the flip side I don't think with what she has currently that she will have much anti-armor, so I have that in my favor at least.

I will be sure to provide an update to let you all know how it went.  What do you have planned for the weekend?  Let me know in the comments!

A Man with Strong Hands and a Spray Gun

Lord Macragge here with my first post.  I thought I would start out with a brief review of the new Citadel line of paints and the Citadel spray gun.

For this experiment I decided to use a mix of tactical marines I bought last week and a few command squad that I haven't gotten to painting yet.  I run Ultramarines (as if the name didn't give it away), so my paint sequence went like this:  Chaos Black Undercoat -> Macragge Blue for base coat -> Drakenhof Nightshade for wash -> Altdorf Guard Blue for layer coat.

Right off the bat I have to say I both love and hate the spray gun idea.  The spray gun allows you to be able to evenly and efficiently coat models, however you are screwed on trying to detail anything with using it.  I think the trade off is worth it, being able to get even and consistent coating on a mass of models and going back and detailing after you spray is more efficient.

If you haven't worked with the spray gun, it is fairly straight forward.  The gun (which looks like a glue gun) is powered by a can of propellant (from Citadel, who would have thought?), and has a water pot that contains a mix of your paint and water.  It takes a little trial and error to find the right ratio of water to paint.  I found that using a little more water for the base coat worked better.

First pic is the base coat:

Straight forward, I primered with the last of my undercoat.

Second and third pic is the base coat of Macragge Blue:

I had to monkey around a little bit to get the consistency that I wanted with the spray.  Too much water and it looks like water paint, not enough water and it looks uber thick.  Love that the base coat paint seems to go on and cover the black undercoat far easier than before.  Definitely noticed it while using Ushabti Bone to do scrolls earlier, took a single coat to cover most of the black instead of the 2+ before.

Fourth and fifth pics are after using blue wash:

Wash adds the deeper blue and collects in the crevices.

Sixth and seventh pics are after alt. guard blue layer:

All in all, I did this in one hour intervals over the past few days, took me longer because I ran out of propellant.  So, for about 2 hours (3 tops) I was able to get base coat + wash + layer 15 models.  Downside is I now have to go back and do all of the details from black undercoat on.  The other problem is that the layer coat seemed to get into every nook and cranny (surprise!) and overwrote the wash.  So, I am going to do some touch up on the models with wash and then do highlights.

Also, on another note, I am going to be picking up the remnants of the Chaos Space Marines army for my beloved Land Raider Achilles.  I've already decided that I am going to create my own chapter, I think a successor chapter to the Blood Angels that turned to Chaos would be fun.  The Ecstasy Angels under the command of Chaos Lord Pennius Penetrato and his right hand man Captain Jayrod Weakhand.

Ta ta.

Flayed Ones..Any Uses At All?

Good morning all!
I have been giving a lot of thought to the Necron codex lately, trying to find synergy between units that may have been overlooked.  There is nothing I enjoy more than being able to take a unit that is generally frowned upon, and making it into a viable choice when used.  So I am going to share some of the ideas I have been bouncing around in my head.  These thoughts were not formed with the tournament scene in mind, so please keep that in mind.

First up is the idea of using one or two 6 man squads of wraiths with whips, using the wraiths to pinch off a side of the board.  Wraiths are relatively easy to get to the other side of the table with ignoring terrain and their 3+ + save.  They also put enough hurt on units that they really cannot be ignored, and opponents usually dedicate a part of their force to take them out.  Use the wraiths to try and pinch or lead the enemy to the side of the board, then outflank the flayed ones to decimate whatever was sent after the wraiths.  I do realize this idea counts on a lot of things going in your favor; your opponent taking the bait, and getting the right roll for the side the flayed ones come in on.  Alternatively, when outflanking if you can get your flayed ones in behind a transport, and wrap it, this can be a good way to take out the squad inside, as once the vehicle is wrapped, dump your heavy fire in to pop it. Boom, dead squad.

The other idea I had was using Imotekh's Bloodscarabs ability.  It's obvious what this ability provides, but maybe not so obvious as what to do with them once they are in.  This would be good to use against a unit of Long Fangs for example.  Also the way the rule is written it indicates that any Flayed One squads looking to enter the game through deep strike will not scatter is deployed within 6 inches of the marked target.  This means that you could bring in multiple squads using this ability.  What better way to split the fire of your enemy than dropping up to 60 little buggers in their backyard without scatter or mishap? Again this could also be useful to wrap transports to focus fire.

Don't be afraid to use points to distract/misdirect your opponents.  Be the Overlord, and sacrifice the insane Flayed Ones!

Mrs Throatpunch's Chaos Daemons!

Good afternoon all, Throatpunch here, I know it has been some time since you have received an update on the Four Horsemen and what we have been up to, so I thought I would take some time today to bring you all to speed.

First up, Mrs. Throatpunch has decided to take the plunge into wargaming, and had decided on Chaos Daemons as her method for delivering my humiliation.  To start things off we picked up the Battalion Box, and a Soul Grinder.  I am proud to say that she has completed the construction of both, with only very limited assistance from me.  With no background in modelling or any of the such I have to say that I am quite impressed.  We are picking up Skulltaker and 2 Daemon Princes on Friday, and hope to have our first games on Saturday.

For myself, I have completed the rest of my Deathmark squad, Scarabs, and my first Cryptek conversion.  I am fairly pleased with how the conversion turned out and once painted I will share a picture with you all.  I have 28 warriors based and ready to have the guns and arms added to finish them off.  Left to go I have 2 Ghost Arks and 2 Command Barges, and that is it until I start picking things up from the second wave.  To start that off I will be picking up 6 Wraiths, beyond that I am not sure for right now.

The rest of the horsemen have been busy as well.  Warboss Rob has decided to begin a Black Templar army, and has been working on getting models ready.  Jared and Nate have completed 2 theme tables, Lava and Desert.  I cannot wait to check them out and hopefully we will have some pictures/battle reports to share soon.  Nate's brother A.J. has joined the site as a contributor, and I can't wait to see what he has to share.

Lastly, we are doing our first small tournament on May 12th.  8 participants, and it looks like it will be a great time.  After the tourney we will be sure to share what happened.

What have you been doing to keep yourself busy?  Please share in the comments and thanks for reading!
